No booking is required, just turn up! However, if you are going to arrive with a group of ‘extras’ it is always helpful to have a little notice so that there will be enough food. After costs (Parish Council are kindly supporting WLC by paying 50% hall hire charge this year + covering indemnity insurance under their umbrella) all profit will be shared between St Michael’s Church (specifically conservation/cleaning of velvet curtains/stained glass windows), Village Hall (a little extra will be given to help towards the costs of insuring/installing the recently purchased Aynho Junction railway sign which is to be displayed in the village hall 6 months of the year), keeping the Defibrillator running and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Winter Lunch Club is a community-based lunch offering any villager a home-cooked meal at a very reasonable price in a warm, friendly atmosphere in the village hall most Thursdays October-end of March. At WLC on 21st December, Sybil Stevens raised £80 selling various hand knitted items which she then very generously donated towards WLC’s profit for this season.
I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Sybil for her generosity. Amanda
