It was a lovely sunny morning when thirteen of us set off down Green Lane to Lower Walton Grounds. The views across to Kings Sutton and Banbury were beautifully clear. The ground was squashy underfoot and as we turned right along the track in the valley it was more water than gravel. Once beyond that the field edges were better and up to the old stone pits at Charlton was very pleasant walking. We continued down through Charlton Village and up through the camp before the final section along Charlton Road to the eagerly anticipated refreshments by Dawn.
