The second event in our Community Matters programme is taking place on Saturday 2nd June from 11am to 2pm with a focus on health and wellbeing. South Central Ambulance service will be demonstrating how to do CPR and use the defibrillator and the event is being supported by several other organisations including Getting Heard, a patient advocacy and support charity and Home Instead who work in social care. There will be a large amount of information on many health and wellbeing issues and formal presentations, including one from Chipping Norton Health Centre on how they have engaged their local community using social prescribing, a new national programme from NHS England linking GPs, patients and local wellbeing initiatives. There will also be a health quiz, refreshments and a presentation on a new idea for Aynho residents to join a local health group.

Age UK Free, independent and confidential information and advice on a wide range of subjects, including: staying independent at home, social and leisure opportunities, legal issues, financial issues, housing, care homes, etc.
Getting Heard Provides assistance to individuals and groups in empowerment, inclusion and protection of rights though representation of their views. They provide support for providers of advocacy that seeks to ensure that people, particularly those who are most vulnerable in society, are able to have their voice heard on issues that are important to them. They also promote the recruitment of volunteers interested in becoming advocates.
Home Instead Provide tailor made one to one care at home. They have over 200 locally owned and operated offices across the UK, who together deliver over 6 million hours of care to over 9,000 clients and employing close to 8,000 people.
Chipping Norton Health Centre Have become a model of community engagement via an active patient participation group and using social prescribing.
South Central Ambulance Service Demonstrations and discussions about using defibrillator, CPR and first responders to emergency situations.
